Skye's mom says: Skye is a miniature dapple dachshund that only recently joined our family. Since the day we brought him home, our lives have significantly brightened. He has the personality of a big dog and thinks he is one too! He makes little noises like a turkey whenever he is annoyed or hungry. Skye adores sleeping in deep, dark places like at the back of the bed under all the sheets. He recently discovered that some of his toys can squeak when he pounces on them, and that his new nickname for his pre-nap mood is 'Daisy Cakes'.
As mom to a dapple boy, I can tell you that this is a dog like no other dog you will ever have. I have had dachsies for many years but this is my first dapple and I am smitten. Such personality!!! I'm convinced that they are really just little people in dog suits. Best to you all, and 1100 biscuits for little Skye.
I love doxies and yours melts my heart. These are joyous and overly loving little ones (they want you near them always). Enjoy his devotion and sweet kisses.
OH goodness, He has the most beautiful markings!! I haven't seen to many that color! He is adorable. I bet he is alot of fun, just to look at him, he seems like a comical little guy, especially when pouncing on his toys. 11 biscuits

Having once been owned by a Long-haired mini black & tan Dachsie, I know what a big heart is in that little package! And personality plus!! These little babies are long-lived, so you'll have many, many years together - may they be filled with joy!!

AWWW, Skye is adorable!!! Love this pic of him with the big roll. Our Dorie tackles our Brittiany's big bone in the same way. They sure have strong jaws!!! Dorie is 3 1/2 now and still the light of our life. She's a black and tan, but that face is the same. They have wonderful expressions. Skye is a handsome fellow. I know you will get lots of affection from him, that is their nature. They can't control their lickers, lol. Lots of fun times, good health, and long life to you and your family, Skye. Skye is adorable! We had a dapple and ours was like yours. He loved to go to the end of the bed and burrow by our feet, under the sheets, and sleep. Yes, they do think they are a big dog. Skye has such beautiful coloring! We have had many Doxies, but never a dapple color....would love to have one!!!...just as cute as little Skye! I just love the way Doxies "scrunch" down to the foot of the bed, and they love to make little foot warmers!! They do love to be loved, and to stay right with you....I know Skye will be a loving, loyal friend that loves you to pieces! Two years ago someone gave my son a doxie and ours lives have not been the same! They are the best dogs!!! I loves Skye's color.

Skye ist der Hund! That's my impeccable german.[ I asked my teenage son, who's taking German in high school] Skye probably thinks he's big and bad, ready to take on anything! I love that big dog attitude. Dachshunds are super happy and playful; my friend has 3 and they're a constant mass of moving bodies- you should get Skye a brother or sister!

Lucky you, I grew up with a dachshund Ajax , which was my Mothers . My granddaughter Katelyn has a mini dachshund Molly , she is a black and tan. They are soooo sweet and loyal dogs. I know you will enjoy your new baby and what a precious baby he is . lots and lots of biscuits.

what a cutie! as a mom of a 2 yr old red smoothe doxie boy I can agree like the rest of the ppl who posted... these are the most loving little dogs they steal your heart! Mine too loves the squeaky toys especially squeaky balls if I say "go get yer ball" he will get it and then when I say "bring it" he brings his ball to me(this game will then go on as long as he has a willing participant! as for turkey sounds?? sounds adorable! mine actually moans when he yawns like an old man in the morning when he gets out of (my) bed!-he is not a morning "person"! hugs and love to your little guy!

Skye is such a pretty dog - his coloring is so unusual. I'm sure I've heard of the dapple coloring but I don't see it often. That's so cute about the turkey noises. He sounds like a pleasure to have around!

As you have found doxies need to be warm. Mine sleeps under the covers and if she somehow ends up outside - she will dig until she's under again. They will find any spot of sun in the house. Have fun. I know you will get more love then you heart can hold. Just give that much back.
