JoJo's mom says: JoJo loves to chew shoes, q-tips, plastic cups and the cat. She hates getting brushed. She's very, very French: she tries to eat my cigarettes, she drinks my martinis, my wine and my coffee, and she eats everything. She loves bananas, carrots, green beens, grapes, chicken, beef, you name it. The only thing I've ever seen her spit out was a mushroom. She is my heart and soul. I got her for my 50th birthday, at the end of a very long and very bad year. (I lost my old Siamese cat, my father, and my job.) In England, they call the PBGV the "happy breed," and she certainly is. A more loving animal I have never seen.

Baly, thanks for the info. I knew about onions and chocolate, but not grapes. It may be more accurate to say that she TRIES to drink my martinis, coffee and wine, because I don't condone that behavior. Anyway, no more grapes for JoJo.

Please just keep in mind that grapes are poisonous for dogs. I wouldn't want her to get sick.
Oops, sorry, I submitted my last comment without reading the previous ones! Someone already mentioned about the grapes....coffee grounds, cigarettes, playdough, nuts, raisins, mothballs and dishwasing detergent can all also be poisonous as well.
Why can grapes be poisonous? I have never heard that, though I knew about coffee and chocolate. Hmm. My dogs have eaten raisins before and never had any problems. I cannot think why fruit would be toxic. Hmm...

Sam, Jojo is a female. She's beautiful. I met my first PBGV in NY. He belonged to Mary Tyler Moore, I didn't care to meet her- just her adorable Dudley.
My gramma had a PBGV... i miss her, the sweet ol dog. Yours is awfully cute.
you learn something new every day. i never knew about grapes being harmful to dogs, but i've never known any to eat them, either. never thought about it. i do know that a dog that eats enough cigarettes can be quite sick from nicotine poisioning, though. my chow found a carton of mistys one day, and i almost lost her. jojo is such a pretty pbgv. i love her long eyelashes and the proud stance on her. she must be quite a good friend. i'm sorry to hear of all your loss, and horrible to go through in such a short time. i'm glad that with jojo things will be looking up for you. enjoy each other.
She's absolutely adorable! The pbgv is one of my favorite breeds, and i hope to have one some day.

(Just remember though, onions, garlic, grapes, raisins, tobacco and alchohol can really damage a dog. I used to volunteer at a shelter and you can see what it can do to a pup.)
