Heidi Von Dutch the Weimaraner
Heidi's mom says: We live in San Antonio, TX. She is our new baby, and we are madly in love with her! We had a wonderful weim named Cade who passed away a year ago, and we finally felt ready for a new puppy. She has so much energy and loves to chew on her rope toy and anything else that looks inviting. She's very curious, and wants to hang out with mom and dad all the time. As you can see, she's going to be a big girl based on the size of her paws!

Tail docking is now illegal in the UK, hopefully other places will catch up soon. She is beautiful. Very striking eyes and cuddly little body!

Just to let everyone know, I'm sure Heidi has some sort of tail. Weims just like to tuck it under when they sit and such. And personally, a Weim would look just plain odd with a full tail. That's my two cents!
But, speaking as someone who married into a Weim family, I wish I could have seen my Pfeiffer at this stage! Maybe one day we will get another velvet puppy. Enjoy her...they are a great breed...always there for you when you feel down!

Oh, and there is no point in bagering the owner because Heidi's tail has been docked. It is done by the breeder at the age of 3-5 days. (not that I agree with it by thought I'd add a bit of info)

Ref the dock tail debate - jaggersmom is right you don't always get a choice. Both my cockers and even my poodle cross terrier (perrier or toodle?) have docked tails. I would prefer tailfull dogs personally but didn't get the choice. All 3 make the most of what they have though. Decrease in length seems to increase speed!
Whatever the tail length 11plus biscuits to Heidi! I am sure she will fill that gap left by Cade ( my condolences ) and keep you laughing for many years to come. Best Wishes.

What a beautiful puppy-in-a-box! I agree with a previous poster. We had a cocker spaniel named Snoopy and his tail was docked by the owner before we got him. It sure didn't slow down his wagging... that little stump could go a mile a minute... Many happy years with your young lady.
What a gorgeous girl. I adopted my wee Weimaraner girl at New Years and sadly she passed away only 5 days later. I had sent in photos of her to The Daily Puppy the day after I got her. We have always had Weimaraners in our family here in New Zealand; I just adore them.

I love this baby! Before we got our Bostons, the Weims were my favorite dog. Fay was my favorite Wegman dog for his photos. I love Heidi's blue eyes. You can just sink in them. Enjoy your gray baby!

There's an easy way to make sure your dog doesn't have a docked tail - don't use breeders. There are millions of abandoned animals in shelters and breeders and pet stores just add to those numbers.

And personally, in regard to the comment about not using breeders, please keep those suggestions to yourself. I think it's a wonderful thing to rescue dogs, and I agree there are far too many darlings without homes. However, you might send a negative vibe to people who do choose to use breeders. They're not wrong in doing so.
She is so CUTE!!!! She reminds me of the weim. that I had as a little girl his name was Puppy. I hope to one day have a weim again. She looks like trouble.

May I just say that these photos are outrageously beautiful? Particularly the Christmas tree shots, the lighting and color are eye popping! Maybe it's because I'm running a fever....in any case...I really like them.

I have a cocker spaniel named Sandy, and I got him when he was 10, so I had no choice of his tail size, either, but I can tell you this, when he is happy, which is OFTEN, his tail wags just like any other dog's !!

what a beautiful baby! my parents have weim thats almost 2 years old now and he's the most handsome dog ever. and guess what, heidi is a spitting image of him at that age! heidi, your future's looking pretty bright little girl! 11 biscuits and tons of kisses to such a cute puppy! by the way, my condolences to you about cade, i'm going through the exact same thing and depend on my new baby to get me through.
She is lovely! We had a Weimaraner fly in to the airport I used to work at, and everyone from the pilot to the baggage handlers wanted to hold him. The ears are so smushy!
Weimaraners are such fascinating dogs, from their blue eyes to their velvety coats. I would love to meet one in person someday so I can see what those beautiful coats feel like. Heidi looks like she's got a great pesonality to go with that beauty!

i agree withone of the other coments that this is not the site for a debate on teil docking. this is a horrible practice and my dog came with his tail already clipped. i had no choice in the matter so enjoy this beautiful little puppy.....countless biscuits to her...

I love her!! I have a Weimaraner of my own - she was the daily puppy awhile back (Cleo). They are the best dog - so smart, faithful, and loving! I will never regret my decision on the breed. Everyone warned me about how hyper they are - but that hasn't been the case for me. Hope you enjoy your new baby - she is adorable!!!!!
Heidi is adorable! I used to breed Weims, & have three of my own now-Papa Dog Jake, Mama Dog Sierra, & Baby Dog Grady (baby weighs 90 lbs & is only 1 1/2 yrs). Looks like you've got a big one on your hands, too! As for the tail thing, as a breeder I can tell you that the docking is done between 0-3 days old, & before the pup's nervous system has even developed. I always made sure I did it the day after birth, just to be safe. Anyway, love your new baby as I can see you do. Time & puppy kisses will heal the hole in your heart left from your other baby (trust me, I know-I've lost my share of babies). Love & hugs to the precious little girl!
Heidi is a beatiful puppy with a perfect name.. She has a peaceful expression on her face that makes her look adorable to all. I love all puppies.. She is a lucky pup to have a mom and dad who love her so much.

Heidi is absolutely beautiful. She looks too precious for words sitting "under the tree". The belly picture really made me laugh...I have a Weim, Samantha, who just turned two and she still lays like that! All the best to you and your little girl! May she bring you tons of fun, laughs and love.
